Norma Soledad Albano Ramirez

IN LOVING MEMORY of Norma Soledad Albano Ramirez, 69, was born on March 11, 1953 in Honolulu, Hawaii. On January 18, 2023, Norma passedm away after a long illness at her home in Manchester, NH. She was the fourth child of Ambassador Pedro G. Ramirez and Soledad Albano Ramirez both deceased. 

 She attended SAHS during the mid 60’s and was active in the Choir .She studied at the University of the Philippines, College of Music and went on to be one of Manila’s renowned jazz singers during the 1970’s and 80’s. As a lead singer of the Batucada band with Bong Penera, her signature song, “Samba Song” hit the international charts and heard in jazz stations to this day. Norma will be remembered as a lover of music, service animals and above all her deep love for her nephews and nieces Pat and Tanya Byrne, Mike Byrne, Marliese Bosch Pinzon, Nadine Bosch, Mark and Danielle Ranno. Her brother, Peter's children, Stephanie, Scott, Alisandra,Sebastian, Sol Beatriz Ana and Peter Jr. She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Maria Byrne Peterson (Dan Peterson) Peter A. Ramirez ( Barbara ) and Gina Ramirez Ranno ( Richard). Kind hearted, upbeat in spite of her medical condition, loved her family, friends and people who helped care for her soo much. Her family has a huge void in their hearts.

Sue Cosner (Kizer) (1971)

I'm saddened by Norma's passing. I remember her as a kind , quiet person. What a gift her music must be to her family.
