I remember MSG Gill so well - such a very nice guy. As "supply officers" Shawna Hirata and I used to hang out with him during JROTC period and after the first 30 minutes after we had finished everything, we used to just sit and chat. He was a wonderful man and I have nothing but good memories about him. To Pat and the rest of his family, I am so sorry for your loss.

I remember Sunshine Gill very well. I was another one of the "supply officers" he worked with and I learned a lot from him. He never seemed to have a harsh word and was always patient with his students. Sunshine, you will be missed.

Some of my fondest memories of JROTC are thanks to Sunshine Gill. He had the patience of a saint and it was tested with all of us, but you could not tell, for he rarely lost his temper. I wish I could still recall some of his southern sayings but I can still hear his voice. It was great seeing him in San Antonio. He made a lasting impact on my life and will be sorely missed; my sympathies go out to the family and Pat.

MSG Gill was a BIG influence to a LOT of people and that's one hell of a legacy to leave behind. A great person all-around, I fondly remember the many long evenings and weekends I spent with him at the JROTC classroom, learning how to grab life by the collar and show it who's boss.

It was wonderful to see him again 11 years ago at the Vegas reunion and it was no surprise that he hadn't lost any of his spark. He had a great sense of humor and loved his students.

My deepest condolences to Pat and Trish. Your dad was a good guy and will be missed.
