RIP: BAY AREA ZYDECO DANCER, AND FRIEND, GREG BROVOLD. This is a photo of Greg, and his lovely wife, Sybil Wyatt, taken on their current trip. GREG died this morning of pancreatic cancer. He was on holiday in Europe with his wife, but illness overcame him, and he died in a hospital in Budapest Friday morning (according to a post by his much beloved wife, Sybil). Sending blessings and love to his family and friends. He was a brilliant, charming man, and a caring friend to many. There are no words. I am just sick about this. I met him around 1998, when I became a Zydeco dancer. Sybil, a brilliant, accomplished woman, was his love, companion, and wife of the past 20 years. He is also survived by a much loved son, Challen, from another marriage.
