In Memory
Born in 1949 in Munich, Germany to a career Army officer, he was a graduate of University of South Carolina Law, Furman University (summa cum laude), and Seoul American High School (Korea). It was at Furman University that he met his loving bride of 51 years, Janie. Keith's 29 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army were spent in the Artillery, JAG Corps and as a Military Judge. Upon retirement, Keith was a Senior Legal Instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) where he was known for his rousing instruction. He later acted as the Judicial Advisor to the Military Commissions at Guantanamo and was selected as one of the “Highly Qualified Experts” for the US Army Trial Defense Service. In his "off time" Keith loved to travel the world, especially on cruises, and had an unending appetite for all its history, culture and tradition. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, healthy political debate on social media and had an aggressively wonderful sense of humor. If you have ever been around Keith then you more than likely got to participate in his random and spontaneous bouts of trivia - he knew a lot of "non-income producing information" - as he called it. He is survived by his wife, Janie (Perry) Hodges of Brunswick, GA; Sons Aaron and Matthew; daughter-in-law, Shannon; grandchildren Carsyn and Caden and brother, Howard. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Col. Keith H. Hodges, 75, a retired Army judge, passed away December 15, 2024 in Brunswick, GA surrounded by friends and family.

My dear partner in crime. The only other person I know who thought running a website to keep classmates together was a blast and more fun than work. I'll miss you.
Todd Himes (1980)

I got to know Keith very well while I was at SAHS--I was a year ahead of him (1966). I remember him as a bright, friendly person who everyone liked and got along with well. I was always amazed at how selfless he was playing such a central role for our website--I can only imagine how much work that must have been! For Keith, it was certainly a labor of love. A wonderful and accomplished man! A sad day for SAHS but he will always be loved and remembered by many! My thoughts are with his extended family at this time: a sad time but a celebration of a life well lived.

I am profoundly saddened by the loss of Keith — a friend and fellow soldier. He accomplished so much, both professionally and personally. He will be deeply missed.
Wishing you blessings on your journey.

Keith was one of a kind, both back in Seoul in the '60s and in more recent years. He was a gift to SAHS and its students and staff. Many thanks to him, and much sympathy to Janie, who was always his guiding light.
Kitty Love (Massey) (1967)
I am in the class of 1967 but I never met Keith in person. I left in 1964. No one my age is supposed to go to the great beyond at age 75. Keith was so kind to work continuously to bring us together. I am proud to have known him through the community he created because of his high regard for his time at Seoul American High School. My sister, brother and I appreciate his devotion to our very unique teenage life in South Korea. KITTY LOVE MASSEY

RIP Keith. You were a great leader! Senior Class President. The cornerstone of reunions and getting the word out to SAHS Alums as well as an expectionally accomplished lawyer in and out of uniform.
Buddy Wootten (1967)
Keith was one of my best friends at SAHS. As had been said he was very bright, friendly and articulate. He was always a leader with a wry sense of humor and a bit of sarcasm on occasion. He was always very involved in the website and reunions. He loved getting together with all of his old friends and did everything he could to facilitate our meetings. I last spoke with in late October as he was helping schedule a mini reunion in Nashville for a few of us in November. He was so positive and excited about seeing several of us in Nashville. He was planning on Janie driving him up for a long weekend until he got too sick to make it. Even then he insisted on contributing towards the hospitality room expenses. He was so disappointed he couldn't make it but we all remembered him! He was so special to me and many of us, he will be missed!
