Comments:

Been an ordinary soul, basically. Stayed in Korea 3 years, went to Virginia and worked in jewelry store, returned to Korea and worked as secretary with Civil Service 4 years, then became secretary for 4 months with Central Texas College Overseas/Far East on Camp Coiner -- remember that? -- and got contracted to be their business manager, which position I stayed in for 3 years. Then I wanted to go back to the States, so I joined my family members and went to Austin, Texas and became self-employed as transcriber for federal courts, which I still am doing. 29 June 2008 I came to Phoenix at invitation of my nephew, Tim, whom some of you may recall as a baby in '59-'63 when he and my sister lived with us at good old 7065-A. Seems I did some stupid things, let the brainless heart rule over the more intelligent head and didn't sell my house when I should have. Nutshell: work went bye-bye along with everything I owned. While not something I would elect to ever do again, it hasn't been as horrible an experience as it could be. Starting all over again in my 60's and it's not the '60s, so that is a little handicapping; however, it really makes what could be stagnant times into a little bit of excitement. (Warped imagination here, you think?) In case it hasn't shone through, I have retained my sense of humor all these years despite obstacles. Really helps. But I wouldn't change anything, even the rotten stuff, because I have been fortunate to meet some pretty fantastic people and have the best friends a person could ever ask for. And when things get slow, I get the extreme pleasure of recalling my days in SAHS. And that really brightens the day for me. I have managed to pick up a few old friends and keep in touch, swap lies, etc., so if anybody out there wants to exchange emails, feel free, I welcome it. Meanwhile, here I am in Phoenix. Sort of a major shock to my system, I have to admit, when I took my first walk in 116-degree heat. Dumb. Took me a while to learn how to schedule events to avoid the hot spots. Actually, except for a couple months, the weather isn't too bad. But, boy, those couple months. I look forward to reading about my old friends from all classes.

School Story:

I have traveled through many states, many towns, big ones and little ones, and have sampled all kinds of foods; however, I have yet to find a single place that makes onion rings like they did at the USOM Club! If anybody has found one, please share the info. I will gladly schedule a trip.
