Dana E.  Broksieck

Dana E. Broksieck, age 58, of Basehor, Kansas. and previously of Ashland, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at his parents’ home. Visitation will be 11am-Noon, with the Funeral Service beginning at Noon, both Friday, June 29th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Leavenworth National V.A. Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.

Dana, the eldest of four children born to Don & Donna Broksieck was born on August 31, 1959 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Being the son of a military family he attended schools in many places and graduated from Seoul American High School in Seoul, Korea. He attended South Dakota State University, proudly served in the U.S. Army, and attended the University of South Dakota after serving in the U.S. Army. Dana received computer programming training in Boston, Massachusetts, and stayed in the Boston area working in the Information Technology field, most recently he worked for BNY Mellon Investment Company. While Dana resided in Brookings, South Dakota he played baseball on the Brookings City Team, loved to garden and was a great cook.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Alvin & Mazie Broksieck and his maternal grandparents; Morris & Rosie Knutson.

Survivors include his parents; Don & Donna Broksieck of the home, 3 siblings; Darci Broksieck of Lenexa, KS., Deon Pearson and her husband Brad of Overland Park, KS., and Daniel Broksieck of Ankeny, IA., one niece and four nephews; Derek (Catherine) Broksieck, Caul, Anders, Blythe & Keefe Pearson, as well as several extended family members and friends.
