Finished HS in Missouri at Raytown South.

Went to Central Mo State Univ. in Warrensburg, and earned a BS in Elem Ed. Met Joe there in August of 74, and married Joe there in the student chapel in June of 75.

Worked for 7 seasons at Silver Dollar City, MO. Started out in the candy shop making taffy. Also worked in Candles, Book and Print, Word Processing, and my last 2 years there I worked in Cash Control.

As a USMC wife, I followed Joe around from base to base. I was active in the Marine Wives, working at the MW Gift Shop in Okinawa, and then with Key Wives at Camp LeJeune.

Jake born in 29 Palms, California on August 19, 1979.

Jessi at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. on June 25, 1982.

Enjoyed tours in Quantico, Kansas City, MO, Camp Butler, Okinawa, as a MOI wife at the Univ of MO in Columbia, MO and final tour at Camp LeJeune.

When Joe retired we returned to his family farm, and built our house.

Went to the University of Missouri - Kansas City to earn my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.

Now I am a proud grandma, Jacob has 4 kids, 3 boys (Andrew June 2000, Conner Feb. 2003, Joey March 2011 and a step daughter Bri, Oct. 1995.

Jessi has 2 little girl Jaelynn, April 2009 and Jaea, July 2012.

Unfortunately, Jake lives in Yuma, AZ where he is in the Border Patrol so we don't get to see him and his family as much as we would like. Jessi and her family moved in with us last June. She teaches Special Education and her husband works in a medical lab. We love having them with us as we get to be with the girls all the time.

Siblings - John is in Mt. Juliet, TN, Liz is in Yellville, AR, and Nancy is in Columbia, MO.

My mother passed away on April 16, 2009 and my dad on April 15, 2010.

I retired from teaching in May 2009 and stayed busy substituting and making trips to see the grandchildren. I spent alot of 2010 helping my dad and consider myself lucky to have been with him when he passed on.

Dec. 2010 to April 2011, I was with Jacob and his family in Presidio, while waiting for Little Joey to be born. Then I went to Surprise, AZ in June of 2012 to be around when Jaea was born. I love being Grandma!

Nov. 2011 I finally decided that substituting wasn't what I wanted to do so I now work at the Liberty Walmart store. I can go to work in the evenings after I babysit the girls while everyone else is at work or school. I love it...they are so active and full of fun that I have a hard time keeping up with them.

Joe and I built our house in the country outside of Excelsior Springs, so if anyone is out this way..30 minutes from KC, please give us a call. We don't have lots of empty rooms, but we can always find a place for friends.

Joe and I both wish that Jake and his family lived closer, but that won't happen as long as he works for the Border Patrol.

School Story:

My years at SAHS were the best school years. I met alot of great people and have stayed in touch with several.

Active in sports and remember when we first arrived in Korea, MS. Pardue told the boys coach that she would put her fastest girl swimmer against the fastest boy. Turns out I was racing my brother...poor John never did live that race down. Our basketball team didn't have many opponents, so we would play the boy's JV team.

Backyard party at Gate 19. I can't remember the name of the band, but Fred Waterman and Brad Long were in it.
