RODERICK DALE BRAYE Roderick Dale Braye, son of Lydia Davis Braye and James C. Braye was born on October 6, 1952 in Norfolk, Virginia and died on April 27, 2015 at St. John Medical Center, in Westlake, Ohio.

Roderick was a graduate of Seoul American High School in Seoul, South Korea. In 1970, he was admitted to the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, as an Army ROTC Scholarship winner and a Notre Dame Scholar. While at Notre Dame, he edited the yearbook and was selected to be the Cadet Commander of the Army ROTC Regiment. He graduated with honors in 1974, and he received one of six Regular Army Commissions. During his four years of military service, he served in the Infantry and the Adjutant General's Corps, attaining the rank of first lieutenant.

Upon leaving the United States Army, he chose a corporate career in multinational companies. He rose to the position of Vice President of Human Resources in such organizations as Johnson & Johnson, Continental Grain, Pepsico, US Cellular, and Beatrice Foods. Roderick attended the Kellogg School of Management, where he earned an MBA degree. Next, Roderick decided to employ his considerable skills in the consulting field where he founded his own consulting company, The Braye Group. He provided Human Resources expertise in organizations and corporations of the Cleveland, Ohio area. Foremost among the organizations where he served in this capacity was the Lutheran Home at Concord Reserve in Westlake, Ohio. He was consulting there upon his untimely death.

Roderick is survived by his parents, James and Lydia Braye; sisters, Pamela Elaine Braye and Brenda Laraine Braye-Chadwick (Eric); brother, Jamison Byron Braye; daughter, Megan Elizabeth Braye; son, James Roderick Braye; and their mother Anita Roberts Braye; nephew, Ethan James Jackson; niece, Lydia Patricia Jackson; two aunts; several cousins; and special family friend Audrey Deanna Moore. Roderick was predeceased by his brother Michael Wayne Braye (Rubye).

The funeral will be conducted at the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary on 5th and Ann Streets, Wilmington, NC on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Memorial Cemetery, North 11th Street, Wilmington, NC. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the Tileston Building. The family will receive friends at Adkins-Drain Funeral Service on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Social Ministry of the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary.
